Fairly recently, my son was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. I blame it on too much console games, as he tends to spend hours upon hours holed up in his room playing his xbox 360 and Nintendo wii. Pardon me if that sound techno-prudish but some new technologies actually do more harm than good. Thankfully, there are other forms of technology coming out that help parents like me in coping with situations such as this.

When we first came to the doctor to get my son’s hand checked out, the doctor simply inspected his hand and gave us a sort of cream, telling us that it should work fairly quickly. However, as days passed by and the cream was barely working on my boy’s hand, I quickly got worried that we might need to get surgery or some kind of expensive medical procedure.

In my panic, I googled stuff that might work and I ended up on a sort of far infrared and heated clothing website (ventureheat.com). There I saw a heat wrap especially made for the wrist. Hesitant as I was to spend more money on another “iffy” cure, the moans of my hurting child were enough to convince me to act quickly. So, I bought one and surprisingly, it worked.

After a few hours or so, my son’s hand was getting back to fighting form and he looked adamant on getting back to his xbox. Going back to the doctor’s office, the doc was pleasantly surprised at how advanced heat therapy has gone and that he would look into it too.

You see, the hand wrap my son used was no ordinary wrap. It was using Far Infrared (FIR) Therapy. FIR heat therapy is nothing new and was actually harnessed from ancient techniques that have been proven effective over hundreds of years. FIR heat therapy, as I read, using Far Infrared rays which penetrate beneath the muscle tissues which then improve blood circulation, which basically means that while you’re being treated to a soothing heat therapy, the FIR also helps in accelerating the healing process.

Now, I cannot offer any medical proof as I am not a doctor. But seeing as how FIR helped my son to recover from his carpal tunnel syndrome and even in other form of body pains, I guess seeing it and experiencing the comforting heat for yourself will be the best way to prove just how effective FIR heat therapy can be.

There’s just something about heated jackets. I dunno. It’s just that ever since I bought one from the internet (plusheat.com), I’ve grown to be more and more fascinated about them. I mean, it’s part jacket and it’s part “the future!” Imagine me saying that complete with cheesy hand gestures and bombastic horns for emphasis.

For those not in the know, these jackets deceivingly look like your everyday normal ones. But once you put in on, you’ll instantly know the difference between a normal boring one and a super hi-tech marvel of a jacket.

What is a heated jacket?

I’m glad you asked. These jackets are clothes specially made to provide heat every time the wearer (i.e. You) demands it. You see jackets, like all types of clothing, rely on residual body heat to maintain warmth. The problem with this, however, is that residual body heat tends to dissipate after some time. Even faster during wintertime.

And now, this is where the hi-tech stuff kicks in. Micro-alloy heating elements are placed within the jacket so that heat can be accessed instantly via remote control. Even more cooler, if yours is as cool as mine (puns intended), you’ll be able to customize the heat from warm to toasty hot in just a matter of clicks.

Just imagine, you can now be a winter god! Moving with ease across the Alps. Traversing the slopes while being as light as a feather. Forget about that itchy sweater, man. With this wonderful piece of textile, all you need is yourself and you’re good to go. No more layers upon layers of clothing just to walk a few measly steps across the driveway. No more turtlenecks and funny looking holiday sweaters to deal with every time the snowflakes start falling. Well, not unless your grandma or your kooky aunt gives you one in which case, you have to wear it for the time being.

There’s just something about heated jackets. It could be that they’re totally useful. It could be that they’re something straight from the future. It could be that I can’t leave home without it. Or maybe, I just really love them and they keep me warm at night just like a hug.

As you may have observed before, coldness makes it hard for the hands to pick something or even to move the fingers. Only a few know how sensitive these hands are so they have to be protected.

Winter brings great burden to our sensitive hands. It cannot withstand the freezing weather without its proper coverings – the gloves. Therefore, wearing the right gloves is very important. Use the heated gears during winter. It will help you prevent rheumatic pains and muscle stiffness.

In choosing the perfect heated gloves, here are the factors to be considered:

1. Purpose - Know if you ought to use the gloves for skiing or motorcycling etc. Different functions have different factors to mull over. If you want to use it for winter, using heated gloves is necessary. Simply because warmth is your protection against winter chills.

2. Materials - Consider the fabric used. Should you go for knitted, cotton or leather? For more comfort, choosing gloves made from genuine leather or from nylon with polyester filling is the best. Genuine leather is for superior protection while nylon with polyester filling is for more comfort.

3. Fit - As to any garments, fit matters a lot. What more in your gloves? Since these gloves contain heating elements, it is very important that you keep those elements right where they’re supposed to be. The fingers must be enclosed and the palm and wrist should be at rest for the heat to spread evenly.

4. Color - It is best to use neutral colors. Dark color is advisable so that you will not have to worry cleaning out your gloves once they get grubby.

5. Price - Of course, this aspect should not be missed taking into deliberation. You do not have to spend so much for just a pair of gloves. Check some online to compare prices and features. There are many online shops that sell these gloves in reasonable prices.

Why go for the right gloves? Simply because its usefulness and effectiveness depends on it. You cannot expect for the right outcome from the off beam means.

But with the invention of the huggie buddy, the users can now just slip out their arms while still maintaining the comfort and warmth that they desire.

What are the benefits of buying this blanket?

Normally, people think that they can do without buying a heated blanket. Little do they know that they are missing out on a lot of important benefits, some of which include the following:

1. Normalize the body temperature – An ordinary blanket is enough to keep out moderate cold. But if you are faced with extreme temperatures, then you need a little more kick. The huggie buddy can give you warmth as you need it. Also, you have the flexibility to either plug it into a socket or just use it as is.

2. Relief from cold triggered ailments – One of the most observed cold related ailment is arthritis. Now if you do your research, you will notice that it is a well known fact that heat can been used to relive the pain caused by this disease. So by using this heated blanket, you will lessen the swelling of the joins and make things more comfortable.

3. Prevent hypothermia – Hypothermia is one of the conditions that a person can experience when exposed to too much cold. Now if you want to avoid this, you can wither turn up the heat in your home, or just buy a heated blanket.

4. Stay warm wherever you are – Mobility is the number one concern for some. With that in mind, you have to choose a heating solution that not only fits your budget but provides the much needed comfort and warmth. By using the huggie buddy, you can work, play and lounge around without losing your mobility.

5. Cut down your power consumption – As you may already know, turning up the heat can spike up your electric bills. An alternative to this is to use a heated blanket and turn down the heat to save on power charges.

Choosing to buy a huggie buddy is really an important decision, especially since it costs almost $80. But when you look at it from a wider perspective, you will be getting more than you actually paid for in terms of maintaining your health and overall well being.

In choosing a venture heat heated base layer, there are certain things that you have to consider in buying heated apparel. One of the most important things that you have to see if the particular apparel can help you in your daily activities and will not hamper you down, if it can help you then go and have it.

Features that you have to take note

Many manufacturing companies have produced heated base layer in the market. As a matter of fact, consumers are now getting confused on which brand should they have and why. If you are one of those, here are some things that you have to consider.

1. Ability to control – In choosing heated apparel, this is top concern that you should address. You should be able to control the apparel. Do not let it control you because you have the last say when it comes to the quantity of comfort that you are receiving.

2. Fashionable, ideal for trendsetters – If you think that wearing a venture heat heated base layer is not fashionable, think again. Heated apparel manufacturers have produced base layers that will fit your taste and style with their modern design.

More uses of heated base layer
A heated base layer is not only about providing you with warmth, it has several health benefits that you will love hearing about.

1. Perfect for those with arthritis – If you suffer from swollen joints, then you must have arthritis. It is a common disabling disease in America. Having heated apparel will help you feel warm again so you will not be suffered anymore by this disease.

2. Good blood flow – The circulation of the blood is highly important during winter times. There have been reports of people dying because of hyperthermia. Using a heated base layer will help your body to produce more good cells and promote blood flow around your body which in turn will help you prevent illnesses.

Where to use?

People who are fond of spending vacations in cold places and for those who enjoy playing winter and snow sports, getting yourself some venture heat heated base layer will help you make the most of your vacation by making you feel comfortable in every aspect.

To give you an idea of how it can make working on winter days bearable, here’s a list of its benefits:

1. Varying heat – Your normal jacket can’t do anything in case the weather gets suddenly colder. Imagine the discomfort it will bring if you have an outdoor job. The heated jackets from PlusHeat are equipped with temperature controllers that let you choose the level of warmth according to your needs.

2. Constant warmth – Unlike normal jackets that become useless during fluctuating weather temperatures, a heated jacket keeps you comfortable for hours, perfect for a day of work outside.

3. Layer less option – You know how uncomfortable 3-5 layers of clothing can get, especially if you have a physically demanding job. A single layer of the heated jacket can give you the kind of warmth even a 100 layers of clothing won’t deliver. You can now add versatility to your winter ensembles while still celebrating your personal choices.

4. Better health – The heat emitted from the stealth coil-free heating elements have the ability to dilate the capillaries for a better blood circulation. This effect gives you an extra boost that you desperately need while working under the chilly weather.

5. Greater chance of immunity – The heated jacket wards off the threats of getting sick under the cold. With its heat, your body maintains its ideal temperature, making it less susceptible to sicknesses.

If these benefits are not enough for you, why don’t you let yourself discover a real blessing of technology made especially for your comfort. You may not know it until you try, that’s why now is the perfect time to go ahead and get a heated jacket for yourself, and be prepared once and for all.

As an avid fan of the outdoors, I’m always on the lookout for new and better ways to camp, hunt and, in general, enjoy the great beauty of nature without compromising anything. With the constant battle with nature and all the harsh conditions that she can throw at us, performing at our peak levels is always a must.

One recent found of mine are these very cool, and might I add very essential, heated jackets. In layman’s terms, these heated jackets are like your conventional everyday jackets save for the fact that they can provide constant heating on demand. But take note, they are not bulky pieces of equipment. The jackets have these very thin heating pads which run throughout parts of the jacket and you can hardly feel them, which is great especially when you’re sleeping. Lying down with something poking your back is hardly enjoyable, you see.

Anyway, I bought a heated jacket just recently and I took her out for a test drive during our hunting trip to Georgia. And just to make sure everything would work out, I bought a couple of extra batteries just in case my battery pack runs out of juice.

At first, I was quite hesitant of shedding away all the layers of clothing I had on. As an outdoorsman, you get quite used to this despite the bulk of clothes you’re carrying around. However, I soon had to abandon all the hesitation because as I turned the heated jacket on, things got way too hot. I soon realized that I had too many layers and the heated jacket could take the place of most of them.

I also tried experimenting with the different temperature settings, trying to find the perfect warmth I was most comfortable with. In the end, though, I found that alternating between max and min temp is enough to keep me comfy all throughout the day.

And have I mentioned, I have never felt as mobile as I did when I wore my 12V heated jacket. My fellow outdoorsmen were walking like puffy camouflaged marshmallow men while I was easily running along the path with superior ease.

According to an old wive’s tale (and a lot of mothers can ascertain to this too!), in order to avoid getting a cold, the crucial parts to keep covered are the back and the chest. That’s why during the winter time or on any snow day, mothers always tell their children to wear a jacket and keep layered up at all times. Not only will it keep the cold away, it’ll protect one from getting sick.

But what should one wear when the weather is cold yet still warm enough to feel a bit clammy when one wears a thick sweater? And this is usually the case for a lot of parts of the world. The answer, of course, is a good winter vest (alternatively called a waistcoat in the UK). Not only will it keep one warm, there are also a lot of nice styles available nowadays that wearing a vest is becoming a fashion must once again!

In line with that, here are some tips on how to select the perfect vest, for winter or any season, and some very important things to remember before buying and investing in a good vest.

VEST FABRIC

Before buying a vest, the first thing to consider is the material from which the piece of clothing will be made off. From leather to wool to silk, there are various types of vest fabrics available to cater to your needs, whatever they might be. Choosing the right material can ultimately determine whether one still needs to layer down with more clothing or not. Usually, though, a good fleece vest is perfect for a lot of winter time needs.

VEST TYPE

There are many types of vests. From thick sweater vests which are worn over shirts to give one a “preppy look” to motorcycle leather vests which are stylized to be both functional and “rugged” in appearance. Like any typical piece of clothing, considering one’s activities is usually advised before buying a vest.

VEST FIT

Because it will be worn over a shirt, and sometimes even under a jacket, it is advisable to look for a good fitting vest. It shouldn’t be too loose, so that heat energy won’t be lost. It should not be too tight, either, as that will lead to very uncomfortable situations.

RECOMMENDATIONS

If you, however, have no idea of what type of vest to get, it’s always a safe bet to buy a good heated vest. Heated vests are basically like conventional jackets save for the tech (an advanced heating system) that is embedded within the jacket construct. Because of its heating system, you can choose when you get a sudden blast of heat. Usually, a heated vest is made of fleece and is good for all types of winter activities.

So despite, what it may lack (sleeves, obviously) a heated vest can provide the same heat as a jacket can without the bulk that comes along with it. In the end, though, one’s own style and preference will determine what type of vest or heated vest one will get for the coming winter.

Deciding whether to buy a heated base layer or a vest is critical if you want to keep warm during the cold months. You see, when the cold comes it brings along various ailments that can either impair your capacity to work or enjoy. Now you don’t want this to happen especially when you have something important to do or accomplish.

What are the differences and similarities between a vest and a heated base layer?

For women, before you decide to buy particular heated apparel, you should first know the differences between them. Some of which are the following:

1. How It Looks – At first glance, you may think that the vest is the popular choice. On the contrary, the heated base layer can snugly fit your body and make you look slimmer. Meanwhile, the vest can be quite bulky and not that fashionable at all.

2. What Materials Are Used? – There is relatively no difference when it comes to the overall material that makes up the vest and the base layer. But, depending on your preference, the base layer is made out of polyester/spandex while the vests are typically made from waterproof polyester.

How does this product compare to the rest of its counterparts?

To better differentiate the differences between the vest and the base layer, you can try looking at teh following:

1. Activeheat micro fleece vest – This vest is powered by 6 AA batteries and uses for heat transfer patented micro thin, no metallic fibers. As compared to older models that use coils, this vest is guaranteed to keep you warm while ensuring your safety.
Some of the other features include the temperature control switch, soft wind drying fleece material, smooth lining and roomy pockets for your hands. Although there are still other vests in the market, girls this is really one that you should keep your eye on.

2. Venture heated base layer – Now for the main event, it is time to learn about venture’s base layer. This is a revolutionary product that combines the best out of all the heated garments in the market into one sleek and small package for women.
For its looks, this product is especially made for women. You see, the material that was used to make it is spandex. This means that it will form it to your body ensuring that you get maximum warmth without looking bulky.

Another thing worth looking into is its micro alloy technology. By using micro alloys, you can sleep soundly at night knowing that you won’t get burned while wearing the venture heated base layer. Also, since it is micro thin, you won’t even notice that it is there in the first place.

Benefits of warm gloves

People who want to avoid chills will benefit a lot from heated gloves. Office goers and people who work places where the temperatures are extreme will see how useful it is to use this particular type of gloves. It makes sure that your palm is warm and will protect you against the harsh weather conditions. Some of its benefits include the following:

Good blood circulation – Experiencing too much coldness can affect the blood circulation of your body. There are certain instances wherein extreme temperatures can have negative effects on your hands. Some people complain of arthritis because of the unusually cold weather. Having gloves that warm the hands will prevent you from getting cold fingers and thus promote good blood circulation in your wrist, hands, and arms. As mentioned earlier, people with arthritis will find this of good use.

Gives warmth and comfort – It can be very difficult to work if you are bothered with cold hands. Sometimes you cannot function well because you are disturbed with how you feel. You end up continuously rubbing your hands together to promote heat. With heated gloves, you need not do this anymore because it will give you the warmth and comfort that you are craving for. This will help you focus more on your work and less with how you are feeling.

Easy to use – These gloves are very easy to use. They come in different sizes to ensure perfect fit and form. Most of them have pre-curved fingers making it easy to slip on and off. This particular type of gloves are not bulky, as a matter of fact they are made of comfortable fabric which is waterproof and windproof.

Fits all – Everybody can use these gloves, no matter whether you are young or old. This will be your friend during long winter nights.

Importance of heat therapy

Many doctors will tell you that the human body cannot be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Too much cold or too much heat can have bad effects to the body. Thus, with heated apparels such as these gloves, you help protect the body by giving it back the natural temperature. This will enable a person to work well despite the weather conditions. Heated gloves are very important because they help you maintain the right temperature of the hands without making you feel too hot or too warm.
